How Crossing Borders Creates Business That Change the World...
Hello Kingdom Giant,
It’s awesome writing to you today!!!
How are you doing?
I believe this newsletter finds you in high spirits.
It is another TUESDAY lol.
I have two stories to share with you. It has been top of mind for me, so I decided to share the concept of TRAVELS and how it relates to your business.
If you are an entrepreneur, thoroughly think through as you read along.
Once Upon A Time!!!
Years ago, Howard Schultz walked the cobbled streets of Milan, Italy. He wasn’t looking for a business idea; he was simply curious. But what he saw changed the course of his life.
In every neighborhood, small espresso bars buzzed with life. People weren’t just drinking coffee; they were connecting, sharing stories, doing business, and building community. He thought to himself: Why don’t we have this in America? That trip gave birth to Starbucks, not just as a coffee company, but as a global meeting place.
On the other side of the world, Logan Green was in Zimbabwe. He noticed how shared minibuses carried people efficiently, connecting entire communities at low cost. Back in the U.S., he couldn’t stop thinking about it. Why should every car have just one passenger when they could share rides? That spark turned into Lyft, a new way of moving people, and a new way of thinking about transportation.
You see, travel does something powerful. It opens your eyes. It takes you out of your comfort zone and allows you to see problems and solutions through fresh lenses.
What Travel Can Do for You As An Entrepreneur
You don’t have to fly across oceans. Even a short trip to a neighbouring city can inspire you.
Watching how street vendors sell in Lagos could spark a retail idea in Nairobi.
Observing how transport runs in Accra might help you rethink logistics in Abuja.
A weekend business event in a nearby city/country could connect you to partners for life.
Platforms like Eventbrite.com make this easier than ever. Wherever you travel, be it for vacation, family, or business, check for conferences, networking events, or trade fairs. Many are free or low-cost. Imagine returning home with not just souvenirs, but a new business model in your notebook.
Some of the greatest companies didn’t just come from boardrooms; they came from journeys.
Starbucks – Italy’s coffee culture brought to America.
Lyft – Inspired by shared transport in Zimbabwe.
Intel – Born in Silicon Valley after leaving the East Coast.
Nike – Sparked when Phil Knight saw Japanese sneakers.
Trader Joe’s – Modeled after European specialty stores.
Travel is business tourism. It’s education on the move. It’s innovation disguised as adventure.
The Bible says:
“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise.” – (Proverbs 6:6 KJV)
Even ants don’t stay still; they move, they search, they gather. Likewise, wisdom often comes when we step outside the familiar and see how God works in other places.
Dear Kingdom Giant, don’t wait for a perfect time or a big budget. Start where you are.
Visit a neighbouring city.
Save for a short trip abroad.
Attend a local trade show.
Walk into markets you don’t usually visit.
One conversation, one observation, or one event could spark your next big idea.
Check the events session for events to attend.
Travel doesn’t just change the way you see the world; it changes the way you see yourself and your calling as an entrepreneur.
Keep your eyes open.
Go, TAKE CHARGE!!!
P.S.: Get your Passport. You will need it for mobility outside your country as you travel for business.
